The New Mexico State Forestry Division has a report of a new fire start near Bernardo, NM, in Socorro County. The “Labor Day Fire” is located Northeast of the Bernardo Wildlife Area and burning on both sides of Highway 60 on private land in the bosque. It is threatening the New Mexico Boys Ranch and other structures located about a mile away. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and will remain under investigation.
