Leroy Maldonado, 44, of Silver City, has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, second degree felonies, based on a Sept. 13, 2017 interview with the victim by Silver City police officers. The offenses occurred in 2007 and 2008, an affidavit for summons said.

According to Silver City Magistrate Court staff, a date for Maldonado to appear in court has been set, and a summons to appear has been mailed, but it is unknown whether he has received it.
