[Editor's Note: This author is not an attorney, but has been covering the Arizona Water Settlements Act process since it was signed in late 2004].

The information contained in the letter and attachment is outdated, as it addresses allegations received in 2015, as well as ongoing allegations that have been settled and does not address the current status of projects by the New Mexico Central Arizona Project.

It is an issue between the state auditor's office and the Interstate Stream Commission, so it is expected that the ISC will provide a detailed response to this letter.

"In my opinion," NM CAP Entity Attorney Pete Domenici Jr. said, "these concerns are likely to be straightened out and proven to be inaccurate."

To be sure the state auditor understands the issues, the NM CAP Entity may send its own letter providing additional information on concerns in the letter, depending on feedback from the members.
