Silver School District directors prepare to name a replacement on the board for Justin Wecks, who recently resigned his position. Today, Friday, December 01, 2017, was the last day to place names and credentials for consideration. That deadline, according to Linda Hernandez, secretary to the superintendent, ended at 4:30. Then, other procedures governed the process, as stated earlier by the board.

According to the Hernandez report, Daniel Arrey and Nancy Stevens had applied recently and placed applications on file for the District 4 position. Today, four more applications were received. The applicants include Nicolas Bobo, S. Otto Khera, Seth Traeger and Michelle Diaz.

Public hearings are to be held at the Board Room beginning at 5:30 on Wednesday, December 6. After the board interviews the applicants, it will select a finalist. The name of that person will be announced, and that person will then be sworn in.

There remains an additional position, vacated by Frances Vasquez at a later date, in the District 3 area. For more information on this vacancy, go to SilverSchools.org. Only those who live in that geographical area will be considered to fill that position. This action will be coming up shortly.
