Grant County, NM - On December 16, 2017 at around 2:30 p.m. the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash involving a Kawasaki All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Forrest Road 819 in Grant County.

The initial investigation indicated the ATV, driven by Scott Jarette (49) of Villa Park, IL, was travelling north on Forrest Road 819. For unknown reasons, the ATV left the roadway and crashed.

Mr. Jarette was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso, TX for medical treatment but ultimately succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. This case remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
