On January 29, 2018, at about 8:42 a.m. officers of the Silver City Police Department responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Rosedale Rd at the city limits.

According to preliminary investigation, a Tan 2005 Toyota 4-door was traveling south on Rosedale Road when it left the roadway and struck a sign and then hit a tree where the vehicle came to rest.

The driver, a 64 year old male from Silver City, was transported to the Emergency Room at Gila Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. According to the investigating officer, the driver may have suffered a medical issue just prior to the crash.

The investigation is continuing into the crash.
