On February 5, 2017, at about 7:06 p.m. officers of the Silver City Police Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 2000 block of N. Silver Street in Silver City.

Upon arrival, officers located a Hispanic male, 39 years of age, with a last known address in Santa Clara, was found to have been stabbed in the front upper right arm area.

According to the investigating officer, the victim said he did not know who had stabbed him. The initial investigation showed the stabbing apparently occurred in front of a residence in 2000 block of N. Silver Street.

The victim was transported to the Emergency Room at Gila Regional Medical Center and then flown to a hospital in El Paso, TX. The victim is in stable condition.

No witnesses have been developed at the time of this release. Anyone having information about this incident is urged to call the Silver City Police Department at 575-538-3723, ext. 1246.

 The investigation is continuing into the incident.
