Hidalgo County, NM - On February 7, 2018 at about 1:00 a.m. New Mexico State Police investigated a crash where a pedestrian walking across I-10 was struck by a semi-truck. The incident occurred on I-10 at about mile post 34 east of Lordsburg, NM.

The initial investigation determined that a pedestrian was walking south across the lanes of travel of east bound I-10. The pedestrian was struck by an east bound semi-truck. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Office of the Medical Examiner is working to identify the pedestrian. The driver of the semi-truck was not charged with any crime.

The incident is currently under investigation by New Mexico State Police with no additional information available at this time.
