The Beat has been assured that it is a prescribed burn on the Wilderness District. Yesterday, Tuesday, April 10, the crew completed black-lining around about 2,000 acres. The goal is to burn 5,500 acres and will be continued when there are more favorable conditions. Engines are on standby to monitor the interior of the black-lined area. A couple of people are stationed at the Signal Peak Fire Tower to keep an eye on the burn, also. The burn began on Monday, April 9.
