This new wildfire is burning on private and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land approximately 5 miles from the New Mexico/Colorado border in San Juan County. The fire is located west of Navajo Lake near Highway 511. A total of 15 homes threatened by the fire have been evacuated. The fire is currently estimated at 180 acres and growing. Multiple resources from State Forestry, San Juan County and federal cooperating agencies are fighting this fire including 3 air tankers and a helicopter.
