Silver City police officers were dispatched to a welfare check near Denny’s at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Monday, June 11. According to Police Chief Freddy Portillo, when officers arrived they found a male with a possible gunshot wound to his left foot.

Portillo advised that the incident possibly occurred at 12th and Swan streets, however, they are still trying to gain the cooperation of the victim, whose name has not been released.

Medical services were provided to the victim, Portillo stated, and there are no suspects at this time.
