Glenwood, NM – The Gila National Forest, Glenwood Ranger District is lifting the Owl Fire Temporary Area Closure lifted effective 1:00 p.m. on July 27, 2018. This rescind order includes Forest Road (FR) 209 and County Road 13 (FR 232 Pueblo Park Road) to Arizona.

FR 209 will continue to see debris flow during heavy rainfall events. Please use caution in any area that has been recently burned. Rolling rocks are always a hazard in a burn area as monsoon rains may loosen materials that may be holding them. Footing can be tricky and this area has seen several fires. Trails may have hazardous trees whose root systems have been weakened by fire. Often, burnt branches and tops fall from these trees and could cause serious injury or death. Always be aware of your surroundings, watch your footing and look out for hazards.
