It was a sunny, windy day at Gough Park on Saturday, when people from Silver City and surrounding areas met to celebrate children with a difference, children with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
The day started off with a welcome from Mayor Ken Ladner, County Assessor Raul Turrieta, and organizer Vicki Galindo. Then the festivities began with the Sunshine Dancers, various information booths, activities and a special drawing for the youngsters, where everyone got a prize.
After a group picture, the Buddy Walk stepped off at noon, circling the park three times. About 120 people participated in the actual walk this year.
