On Dec. 15, 2018, at approximately 3:23 a.m., Grant County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Mathers Road in reference to a man shot in the hand. Deputies were advised when they arrived that the victim had already been transported to Gila Regional Medical Center. Witnesses stated the incident occurred in the 5200 block of Little Walnut Road and that the shooting happened during a possible robbery.

According to the victim, unknown subjects entered the residence, beat up the victim, and shot him in the hand.

The victim was air-lifted by helicopter to a medical facility.

After the scene was secured, a search warrant was requested to process the scene. The GCSD is following what leads they have and ask that anyone with information on this incident to call 574-0100 or Central Dispatch at 388-8840.
