The Bayard and Hurley Elementary School Student Councils had a winter festival and craft fair December 15, 2018. Vendors filled the Hurley Elementary School gym and student council members had games set up for the kids. Proceeds from the event help students fund programming and were split among the two elementary schools. Cheryl Fowler, School Counselor with Cobre Consolidated Schools, said the STEM program in Albuquerque and other leadership opportunities are among the programs that would benefit the students. This was the first year for the holiday fair.
