Over a score of environmental, health and other local groups gathered in Gough Park Saturday to celebrate Earth Day. They offered information, contacts, how-to tips and just plain fun for the people who attended. Strolling through the park, you could learn about native plants, solar energy, beekeeping and health tips. You could make a smoothie using a bicycle to power the blender and you could even eat a crispy cricket!

Sharon Bookwalter reported that Kids Vote! had 71 participants at Earth Day, voting on their favorite Gila Baby Animal. The race was between a common raven baby, a Mexican gray wolf pup, and a gray fox kit.

The Mexican gray wolf pup won with 32 votes and beat the gray fox kit with 27 and the common raven baby with 12.
