A burglary occurred at Silver High School on Friday, May 10, 2019, at about 6 a.m. as stated by a Silver City Police Department blotter.

During the break-in, according to SCPD Chief Freddie Portillo, several trophies were damaged and one was taken, and fire extinguishers were sprayed in the hallways. The blotter stated bathrooms were sprayed as well.

Portillo told the Beat they have two suspects based on surveillance footage, but are unnamed at this point.

Value of the damage and theft is undetermined at this time as is method of entry into the building, Portillo said.

The case remains under investigation.
