Santa Clara Mayor Richard Bauch and three of four trustees met Thursday evening for a regular Village Council meeting at 6 p.m. Various committees gave reports to the community. The Safety Committee received good news from Albuquerque while Village employees attended training. Santa Clara has a very good safety rating at .88. A 1.0 is the grading scale and anything above that number shows a low safety rating while anything below shows a very good safety rating. The Santa Clara Action Committee will host free movies in the park every Saturday evening through the summer at the Viola Stone Park. The first movie night will be June 1, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. It was not announced what movie will be shown, so check the Village of Santa Clara Facebook page. Hotdogs and popcorn along with drinks will be sold.

The Mercado committee opening weekend was very slow due to the weather. Everyone hopes that it will continue to grow as the summer progresses. Check out the Mercado information on the Village Facebook page.

In the Mayor's report, Village employees will meet with DOT next Tuesday to rank Village construction projects for a share of funds available. Those projects that have planning finished and are shovel ready are the most likely to receive listing on the state priority list, although any project can be put on the table. The Village will ask for the funds for two projects ready to go. The first is for sidewalks and lighting for North Bayard Street, Cottonwood to Pinon. The second is South Bellm Street and Caddell Crossing for drainage and sidewalks.

Village Trustees approved an MOA (memorandum of agreement) Renewal Water Connection and Emergency Water Use, with the Arenas Valley Water Development Association. They also approved the JPA for Consolidated Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). This JPA was approved previously but there were some changes made by the Regional Dispatch Authority. General permission was given by the Council to the Village Clerk to create a new fund within the village software program to track grant monies. The Council also approved the Interim Budget, which will be sent to Santa Fe by June 1. Resolution 2019-16 Budget Adjustment was approved by Council.

Next regular Village Council Meeting June 13 at 6 p.m.
