Silver City police officers were dispatched to the Lintero Apartments at approximately 10:06 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, in reference to a shooting. According to a police narrative, when officers arrived they saw Bryson McNeill, 32, of Silver City, lying on the floor near the front entrance to the apartments with a Grant County deputy applying pressure to McNeill’s right shoulder and collar bone area, waiting for EMS to arrive.

Several witnesses were interviewed, the report stated, who advised that three black males were seen strangling and beating McNeill about an hour before the shooting. Witnesses said that later they saw subjects arguing, heard a gunshot, and saw McNeill lying on the ground.

According to the report, EMS arrived on scene, treated McNeill for his injuries, and transported him to Gila Regional Medical Center. No further information was available.
