The first day of the annual Gem and Mineral Show hosted by the Grant County Rolling Stones Gem and Mineral Society took place on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019. It continued through Sunday, Sept 1 and Monday, Sept. 2. Every day the free event featured several rooms full of vendors of all sorts of items related to gems and minerals, from jewelry to fossil-laden stones, to sculpted stone, photographs, jewelry making tools and, lunch for sale by the Silver City Lions Club. Every day, field trips took interested folks out to look for stones and at least one featured speaker a day gave a talk on history to specific attributes of gems and minerals.
