Today is the ninth anniversary of the founding of The Grant County Beat on Sept. 4, 2010.

Thank you to all Beat readers for supporting me and my growing team as we head into our 10th year.

Without you and our advertisers, I could not have continued to follow the mission of separating fact from opinion.

Some news releases are opinionated, but we try to leave that to you readers to decide for yourselves.

We do have opinions. However, we try to keep them out of news stories and place them on the Editorial, Letters to the editor, Politics: Enter at your own risk pages and in columns.

Speaking of columns, one, Undeniably Right by Mike Rowse, will continue with the occasional addition, starting today, of a podcast. Warning: You may not agree with him, but he has the First Amendment right to express his opinion. And you have the right to listen or ignore.

Rowse will also begin doing occasional podcasts on the topic of sports, and they will be posted to the Sports page on the Beat.
