On Oct. 11, 2019, at about 7:55 a.m. Bayard police officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the 600 block of Orchard Street. According to Bayard Police Chief Lee Alirez, officers located twelve 9 mm cartridge cases and a parked vehicle with five bullet holes, Officers canvassed the neighborhood for injuries and evidence.

Alirez stated the vehicle belonged to a resident of Santa Clara, and believes this incident may have escalated from an event in another city.

BPD is asking for assistance from anyone in the area with security cameras, anyone with additional information, and any additional witnesses, to contact BPD at 537-3312.
