Silver City, NM - Western New Mexico University is hosting its first annual WNMU Tardeada in Bayard on October 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the Food Basket parking lot.

The WNMU Tardeada is free to the community and will feature live music by Fermin along with festive foods including horchata, aguas frescas, tamales, chips and dip, and pan dulce.

Family activities will include a jumping balloon, games and prizes.

The first annual event is intended to bring the university community to the Mining District each fall during Hispanic Heritage Month.

“It's important to have everyone come out and meet WNMU's new president and learn about his vision for our community,” said Maria Dominguez, Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities. “This is also a cultural learning opportunity for our students during Hispanic Heritage Month.”
