The cooler fall weather means it is time to get ready for winter. Want to save money on your winter energy bills? The Joint Office of Sustainability has an Energy $ense program to help. Energy specialists will visit your home and install caulk or weather stripping around your doors, windows, electrical outlets and light switches to help seal out cold air drafts. They install energy saving compact fluorescent light fixtures, low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators. They even put up a clothesline if there is some place outside for them to hang it. They will also give tips to save money on gas and electric bills. This free program is open to all residents of Grant County. For an application call 575 654-5117 or visit the office in the East end of the Grant County Business and Conference Center.
