SANTA FE Nick Maniatis, the New Mexico Film Office director, announced today, Stars, is filming an independent film in New Mexico. Stars, is shooting in Santa Fe, Espanola, Galisteo and Pecos. Production begins early November through late November.
 
The production will employ at least 45 New Mexico crew members and more than 125 principal and background talent.
 
Produced by Scott Lochmus and Bill Perkins and Directed by Derrick Borte (The Joneses), Stars tells the story of Glen Sweet as he strays from his structured suburban world and takes to an open road. While driving through the American west Glen decides to commit suicide on his upcoming birthday. Invigorated by his decision Glen begins a spirited adventure, reaching out to people from his past and encountering a variety of new faces. Through these interactions, Glen is forced to examine his existence and give the value of his life a second thought.
