Albuquerque, NM – November 20, 2017 – The University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management's MBA in Education Leadership Program offers New Mexico educators the opportunity to increase their leadership roles in their schools and communities, as well as to become eligible to sit for the administrative licensure exam in the state of New Mexico.

The program is a two-year general business degree with courses offered bi-monthly on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. The courses are specialized to combine real-life situations, business solutions and academic theory.

"The curriculum of the MBA in Education Leadership Program is flexible and fast, and allows educators to not only advance their careers, but also to increase their level of leadership within their communities," said Audrey Arnold, UNM Anderson School of Management's Executive & Professional Education Center Director. "Students will receive specialized instruction, as well as application of curriculum in hands-on projects in the community."

The MBA in Education Leadership Program prepares educators with courses in data analysis, ethics, strategy, fiscal planning, organizational change, leadership and additional skills to enhance their leadership skills and prepare them for either career advancement or administrative positions.

"This program challenges students to enact change and think outside of the box," added Arnold. "If you're an educator who thinks strategically and wants to increase sustainability in New Mexico education, we encourage you to take a look at this program to find ways to make a positive change for the future of our state's education."

All K-12 public school teachers and staff who apply for the program are eligible for the Woodrow Wilson New Mexico MBA Fellowship in Education Leadership—a fellowship that covers the majority of program costs, including tuition, books, fees and more. All fellows commit to working for three years as a New Mexico education leader. In order to qualify, teachers must first be nominated. The deadline for nominations is February 23, 2018, and applications are due April 1, 2018.
