naeve trio rsThe Grant County Community Concert Association presents the Neave Trio on Friday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Theater on the WNMU campus. Trio members Anne Marie Williams on violin, Mikhail Veselov on cello and Eri Nakamura on piano will surprise and delight, so be prepared for a thoroughly pleasurable evening.

Robert Sherman of WQXR Radio in New York City has said that, " 'Neave' is actually a Gaelic name meaning 'bright' and 'radiant,' both of which certainly apply to this trio's music making." Other critics have hailed them for their "heart-on-sleeve performances" and characterized them as "a revelation," saying that they have "exceeded the gold standard and moved on to platinum." The Boston Musical Intelligencer ranked the Neave Trio among the finest chamber ensembles of their generation.

Trio members, who hail from the United States, Russia and Japan, are graduates of the Yale, Manhattan, Mannes and Longy Schools of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Chopin Academy in Moscow. They have been recipients of various Chamber Music prizes. In 2014, the Neave Trio launched an interactive concert series which seeks to expand the concert-going experience to a wider audience using audience participation and social media tools. Highlights of recent seasons include tours of the US, England and Spain.

For non-GCCCA subscribers, tickets to the concert are $20 for adults and $5 for students to age 17 not accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Students coming with an adult ticket holder are admitted free of charge. Tickets can be purchased online at www.gcconcerts.org or in Silver City at The Place Gallery (Bullard at Broadway), The Pink Store (Bullard St.), the MRAC Office (Wells Fargo Bank Bldg.), or in the lobby at the concert.
