Stories and Metaphors of the Spiritual PathFeb 18 at 10 am, 3845 North Swan Street – “Buddhism & Activism” Algernon d’Ammassa, founder of the Deming Zen Center, and creator of Theater Dojo which combines martial arts and meditation, will present a talk looking at the stories and metaphors we use to describe a spiritual path, which is itself a metaphor.
D’Ammassa is also a journalist for the Deming Headlight and writes a weekly column, “Desert Sage” and is also a playwright. His "Killing the Buddha," a performance mixing storytelling with musical improvisation based on Greek and Buddhist mythology, was recently performed in Tucson.
Although this is not a Family Program Sunday, there will be childcare available for parents who would like to attend. There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are welcome. I
