All registered Democrats are invited to the County Democratic Pre-Primary Convention on Saturday, February 17 at the Brown Derby in Santa Clara at 12:00 noon.

"Sometimes, we just need to stand up for what is right. 2018 is one of those times. The only way to preserve our democracy is by participating in it," says Frances Vasquez, Chair of the Grant County Democratic Party.

"You will meet Democratic candidates and elect delegates to the State Pre-Primary Convention. This is where and when a candidate's early campaign is strengthened. And you can be there to make it happen!"

Registration and potluck start at 12:00 noon. During this time members of a Ward can introduce themselves to each other and become acquainted. Attendees should also advise their Ward chair if they have an interest in volunteering for a Precinct position, and/or commit to be a delegate to State Pre-Primary Convention in Albuquerque on March 10. Voting for delegates will begin shortly after 1:00.

During this Pre-Primary Convention, visiting state and local candidates will give statements. There will also be nominating petitions to sign for these candidates and for the five Court of Appeals Judge candidates. Also, these Court of Appeals Judges are all seeking public funding from their petition signers. Please bring five $5 bills to donate to them. Public funded judge candidates prove their 'electability fitness' by this one and only fund raising during the primary.
