April 22 at 10 a.m., 3845 North Swan Street – "The Inner and Outer Journey of Pilgrimage" – Ron Henry will talk about walking the pilgrimage of El Camino de Santiago. The Camino is a pilgrimage that has been going for about 1,200 years across Europe to Santiago, Spain, where it is said the remains of St. James, Apostle of Jesus, are buried. Today thousands of people walk it for a variety of reasons. There are many routes; the most traditional is called the Francés. The starting point is a village in France and the route crosses the Pyrenees and goes approximately 500 miles across Northern Spain. Henry's first Camino was in 2012, and in 2015 he completed the Francés by walking about 300 miles including 60 miles on to the ocean from Santiago. In 2017 he walked the Portugal Camino (Portugal route to Santiago), returned and walked portions of the Francés again. He has walked pilgrimage a total of 4 times.

This will be a Family Program Sunday. The lesson today will be on power of listening: not only hearing what others have to say, but also factoring their experiences into our world views and choices.

There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are always welcome.
