WHAT: The NM Economic Development Department (NMEDD) is teaming up with the NM Energy, Minerals and Natural Resource's Energy Conservation and Management Division (ECMD) and the USDA to offer a series of workshops across the state in rural areas. Workshops will not only educate participants on how to decrease their energy consumption and implement renewable energy sources, but will include ways to tie in energy savings into their financial stability.

The workshops are free but registration is required. Additionally, a limited number of on-site energy assessments will be offered to businesses for free. Site assessments are conducted by an ECMD engineer who will travel to the place of business and conduct a customized energy evaluation.

The next workshop will be held in Deming at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center. Local resources for small businesses and agricultural producers will be on hand including representatives from local utility companies, the Small Business Development Center, Luna County, City of Deming's Economic Development Department and NMSU's Engineering Resource Network.
