Mimbres, NM, May 26, 2018—The Gila National Forest, Wilderness Ranger District wishes to remind you that these are your public lands, and that part of that responsibility includes being respectful and thoughtful of others, and minimizing human-created impacts.

The Wilderness Ranger District has had some difficulties with people throwing trash in toilets. The majority of the campgrounds on the Gila National Forest are primitive campgrounds with limited amenities, and one of those limitations is trash services. The campgrounds on Wilderness RD, including Grapevine, Forks, and Upper and Lower Scorpion, are some of those campgrounds with limited amenities. Leaving bags of trash around the toilets is not a good solution.

Leave No Trace principles, https://lnt.org/learn/7-principles , include Dispose of Waste Properly.

· Pack it in, pack it out. Inspect your campsite and rest areas for trash or spilled foods. Pack out all trash, leftover food and litter.
