For the Memorial Holiday weekend, beginning Friday May 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. and ending Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Officers of the Silver City Police Department responded to 72 calls for service and had 192 self-initiated activity, and made 20 arrests. No arrests were made for DWI, 4 arrests were made for narcotics possession.

Included in the above calls for service are 6 alarms, 8 domestic disturbances, 1 crash, 1 criminal damage to property, 1 loud music, 2 traffic complaints, 2 batteries, 1 narcotics violation, 4 suspicious vehicles, 2 shoplifting, 1 abandoned 911, 2 harassments, 10 welfare checks, 4 animal complaints, 4 unwanted subjects, 3 suspicious persons, 1 smoke complaint, 1 civil matter, 1 criminal trespass, 2 suspicious activities, 5 citizen assists, 3 child exchanges, 1 noise complaint, 1 vehicle crash/no injuries.
