Grant County Extension Service to offer "Healthy You" a behavior change program for Healthy Living.

Make New Year's Resolution every year? Well, How's that going for you so far in 2018? Does weight loss and eating healthier, or increasing physical activity always make it on your list? Tired of yo-yo Dieting? Here's an opportunity to truly address the issues and improve your health.

"Healthy You", an evidence based program developed by Colorado State University's Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center is a series of 6 classes designed to promote behavior and attitude changes. It is not a diet program but rather a healthy living or behavior change program. The program works because the changes are designed to be sustainable. It is important to have a baseline when beginning a behavior change program, therefore a self-assessment will be completed before beginning the class. The self-assessment takes the participant through the process of completing a food intake analysis as well as a physical activity analysis and reflecting on current behavior and areas for improvement. Participants will use SMART goals to guide their progress. A number of people walk around thinking negative statements about themselves every day and don't even realize it. The activities in the lessons are to bring awareness to that negativity and give participants tools to change their thinking.

The concept of "taking a non-dieting approach to health" outlines the differences between a dieter and being a non-dieter. The goal is for everyone to be a non-dieter, visit https://livingwellnessmedicalcenter.com/phentermine-online/. The non-dieter has positive self-talk and does not engage in the all-or-nothing mentality that can be very damaging. Research shows that dieting only leads to a vicious cycle of more dieting. Want to End this cycle control of the yo-yo? Enroll in Healthy You today. The six week commitment will pay off in life changing awareness.

Classes will be held at the Grant County Extension Service meeting Room 2610 N. Silver St., Silver City, NM. Classes will begin Friday, July 20 and meet every Friday afternoon for 6 weeks ending August 24. Class size is limited so please call and reserve your spot.
