Silver City, NM — July 19, 2018 -- The juried CLAYfest Market is a chance for those who wish to purchase decorative and utilitarian ceramics and other clay-related items directly from the CLAY artists featured throughout the week. Vendors include Blythe's Ceramics, Kathy Davies, Julie Szerina Stein, Mott's Potts, Buckskin Books, Albert Alvidrez, Letha Cress Woolf, Carla Martinez, Nancy Phillips Pottery, Wildcrafted Clay Pottery, Dagny Sellorin, Modern Mata Ortiz, Patricia Castillo Jolet, and Patrick Hoskins.

The outdoor, fun-filled, all-ages event takes place Saturday July 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Bullard across from the Silver City Farmer's Market. Attendees are encouraged to stop by the big tent during the Market to watch artists Patty Countryman, Krissy Ramirez, and others demonstrate wheel-throwing. A sign-up for a hands-on throwing activity for children and adults will also be available.

Other Saturday youth and family CLAY activities include a Mud Pie contest at the Silver City Farmer's Market from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., a free youth entrepreneurship workshop at Leyba & Ingalls Arts from 11 a.m.-noon, and a hands-on youth activity at the Silver City Museum from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. A free shuttle will run between the CLAY Market and the Silver City Museum. A free Clay Street Dance is also being held Saturday evening from 7pm-10pm on Market Street between Bullard Street and the Big Ditch Park .
