"Claret Cup", a watercolor by Penny Thompson Simpson, was awarded the first place and blue ribbon in her category in the 2017 Purchase Prize Show competition.There is still time! New Mexico artists that are planning to enter the Grant County Art Guild's 33rd Annual Purchase Prize Show are advised that the deadline for entries is extended to August 9. Many beautiful entries have already been received but the Guild wanted to extend the final date for entry forms to give everyone the opportunity to participate in this exciting show!

The Purchase Prize of $1500 and other cash prizes attracts some of the best of our local artists as well as those across New Mexico. And this year the additional category for photography has brought even more attention to the show.
 
There will be a gala opening reception, followed by two long weekends for the public to come to the Pinos Altos Art Gallery located in the historic Hearst Church and enjoy an enchanting display of art!
