August 12 at 10 a.m., 3845 North Swan Street – "Ro-Buki in Rhyme: Reflections on Blowing Zen" Samarpan David Kent presents an autobiographical poem which was inspired by the Shakuhachi that came into his life five months ago. Kent will read the poem after providing some background info about the Shakuhachi and its use in Sui Zen practice. He has been a student of Zen since 1970 when, one fateful day, in the University of Washington Bookstore, he discovered a newly published book: D.T. Suzuki's, "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind." Lynda Aiman-Smith, PhD, will be the moderator.

This will be a Family Program Sunday and children of all ages are invited to participate. This Sunday the children will be learning about "The Golden Rule."

There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are always welcome.
