photo 1 rsSilver City, NM – Guadalupe Montessori School (GMS) is pleased to announce that we are offering free programming for 3 and 4 year olds through a Mixed Age Pilot PreK program, administered through New Mexico's Children Youth and Families Department. The Montessori method is a child-centered approach, based on scientific observations of children from birth through maturity. Montessori education is characterized by a deep love and respect for children, an emphasis on developing independence, and the goal of supporting each child in the unique development of their fullest potential.

GMS also has a Toddler program for children ages 18 months-3 years, and an Elementary program for children ages 6-12. Extended care is available both before and after school, starting at 7:30 a.m. and lasting until 5:30 p.m. We have an award winning school garden, and participate in the USDA's National School Lunch Program. GMS is also able to accept CYFD subsidies for qualifying children who are not eligible for PreK.

There are a few spaces left in the Mixed Age PreK Pilot program at GMS for the 2018-2019 school year. Our school philosophy and PreK Program Plan endeavor to create a mixed age classroom with a balance of ages. In order to meet this goal, we are currently prioritizing enrollment for children who will turn four before Sept. 1 of this year. Children who meet the age requirement for three year olds can join our waiting list, and will be eligible for spaces if we are not able to enroll four year olds.

Interested families need to contact the school at (575) 388-3343, or email dee@guadalupemontessori.org no later than 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5 to inform us of your intention, and get enrollment information.
