Mimbres, NM, August 28, 2018—In cooperation with the Wilderness Ranger District, the Aldo Leopold Charter School will be holding an outdoor education event for their 8th grade students at the Upper End Campground.

On August 30 and 31, the Aldo Leopold Charter School, located in Silver City, NM, will be using two sites at the Upper End Campground to teach the 8thgraders how to pack a backpack, set up a tent, hang a bear bag correctly, orienteering and map skills, and proper camp hygiene. There will also be a half-day course spent on first aid scenarios taught by a Wilderness First Responder.
