(Courtesy Photo)The holiday season will begin with the 28th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, “A Storybook Christmas”.  The Lighted Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 7 p.m.  This wonderful community event is sponsored by Silver City MainStreet, the Town of Silver City, and Hidalgo Medical Services.

“The parade is a twenty-eight year long tradition in Silver City and it is a great way to promote your business or organization and give back to the community, states Patrick Hoskins, Board President of Silver City MainStreet. Children and families love the parade and we are seeking new float entries for this year.

To get an application, email Mary@silvercitymainstreet.com or Charmeine@silvercitymainstreet.com or contact the Silver City MainStreet Project at 575-534-1700.  Applications are available online here.

Awards will be given immediately after the parade at the Little Toad Creek.

In addition to the parade, there will be a horse drawn wagon to take shoppers around downtown Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24. It is also Shop Small Saturday and Silver City MainStreet will have totes to give away and businesses will be offering special deals. It’s a great weekend to shop locally and have fun with your family and out of town guests.

We have also done a lot of fundraising this year, and with a generous donation from Town and Country Garden Club, we have decorations for all of the street poles downtown. MainStreet is hosting a merchant window decoration contest, so it will be even more fun for children and families to come downtown.”

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit here to learn more.
