hms imageSilver City, NM (November 15, 2018) – In support of our friends, family, and neighbors in Hidalgo and Grant counties - as "One Warm Coat Day" is November 15, 2018 – Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) is kicking off a month-long Coat Drive for the communities of Hidalgo and Grant counties.

Please drop your new or gently used coats off - for adults or children - THROUGH FRIDAY, 12/14/18 at the following HMS locations:

HMS LORDSBURG CLINIC
530 DeMoss Street - Lordsburg

HMS ENA MITCHELL SENIOR CENTER
532 DeMoss Street - Lordsburg

HMS SILVER CITY COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER
1007 N. Pope Street - Silver City

HMS MED SQUARE CLINIC
114 W. 11th Street - Silver City

HMS TU CASA
3200 32nd Street Bypass - Silver City

According to the One Warm Coat organization, health experts report that even a 2-degree drop in body temperature results in reduced heart rate, loss of coordination, and confusion. Adults cannot work effectively and children find it difficult to learn. For the nearly 15% of Americans living in poverty, a warm winter coat is a budget "extra."

Thank you to the HMS Tu Casa Mental Health Services team for coordinating this initiative. FOR MORE INFORMATION, please directly contact Kristina “Kristy” Ozzello, HMS Tu Casa Peer Support Specialist, via phone at 575-597-2673 or via email at kozzello@hmsnm.org
