WNMU has started a Food Pantry for those students whose budget can't stretch to include enough food. It becomes particularly hard when the concession closes down during school breaks and many students stay in their student housing rather than go home. The next big school break is the holiday break from Dec. 14 to Jan. 15. Creating a Food Pantry was a necessity for our University. To help out, there are two locations where you can drop off non-perishable food items, The Pretty Sweet Emporium and Honeebee Goods, both on Bullard Street. Pretty Sweet Emporium offers homemade ice cream and other treats and has pledged to take 10% off your order the time you bring in 3 food items to donate. Honeebee Goods offers pastries, shakes, lunch, and has also pledged to take 10% off your order if you donate 3 food items. Each establishment also has a collection jar so the Food Pantry can buy items like can openers, microwave safe dishes, microwave safe plastic wrap. There is also a collection jar on campus at the student store, and a food collection box in the office next to the student gym. These WNMU students have a microwave and a small fridge for cooking in their student housing, so keep that in mind as you donate. Please help out! Thank you for giving!
