SANTA FE - As students across New Mexico get ready to begin their spring break holidays, Governor Susana Martinez urged travelers make safety a priority and highlighted warnings and advisories issued by the U.S. State Department for those traveling abroad.

“Whether you're staying home or traveling out of the country for spring break, I urge all New Mexicans to make safety their top priority,” said Governor Martinez. “Staying informed about travel warnings and taking extra precautions can go a long way toward preventing harm and having a safe and enjoyable experience.

All active travel warnings issued by the U.S. State Department, including a travel warning for Mexico that was updated in February 2012, can be found online at http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_1764.html.
