Supports Bipartisan Legislation to Put America Back to Work

Washington, DC (March 8, 2012) Today, Congressman Steve Pearce voted in favor of H.R. 3606, the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act.

“The JOBS Act is a genuine solution to the continuing problem of unemployment in our nation,” said Pearce. “By tying the hands of small business owners, Washington has disabled job creation. However, this legislation removes unnecessary regulations that hinder job growth, making it easier for small businesses to grow and provide new job opportunities.”

“The fact remains that only through job creation and small business growth can we fix our economic crisis,” Pearce continued. “In a time when people are struggling to make ends meet, the best possible thing we can do is give them a job. I will continue to fight for New Mexico jobs and jobs across America, just as I will continue to take a stand against job killing regulations.”

H.R. 3606, which combines six smaller bipartisan bills that will help small businesses, passed the House of Representatives today. It included measures to allow small privately owned companies to use advertisements to solicit investors overturning a regulation that hinders business growth as well as measures to raise the threshold of shareholders for registering with the SEC.
