Buddha’s Four Noble Truths: Pathway to Happiness is the topic of a four-week workshop to be held on Sundays, March 24, March 31, April 7, and April 14, from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at the Lotus Center, 211 W. Broadway in Silver City, NM. The Four Noble Truths are a cornerstone of Buddhist teaching. Each of the four Sunday afternoon classes will focus on one of the Four Noble Truths in sequence, following a brief review of the material, and will end with a short meditation. Issues of recovery from addiction will be covered during the workshop, especially during the first two sessions, along with other challenges we face in our modern world. Participants will be encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible, though drop-ins will be allowed.

The workshop will be facilitated by Joni Kay Rose, a student of Buddhism for over twenty years. Ms. Rose has a Master of Divinity Degree from the Starr King School for the Ministry. She is the author of THE JOY BEYOND CRAVING: A BUDDHIST PERSPECTIVE ON ADDICTION AND RECOVERY (2003), which will be available for sale at half price ($7) before and during the workshop. Otherwise there is no class fee, though donations are encouraged. For information please call 575-956-5414.
