Silver City Community Theatre—SCCT—invites theater fans to “A Night of Monologues,” Friday, April 19, 5-7 pm, at Tranquil Buzz Coffee House, 112 W. Yankie St. at N. Texas St., just 1 block west of Bullard St. Admission to “A Night of Monologues” is free; donations are appreciated.

“This is a chance for everyone to get the acting bug. Just prepare a short monologue and join SCCT members on stage. We will also have some short scripts available for last minute impulses,” according to SCCT Board Member MaryAnn Marlar. “And, of course, the audience is essential; so there is a role for everyone!”

“We had a great turnout at SCCT’s March 9th Annual Meeting and Community Party,” said Thomas Leeper, SCCT Board President. “We want to keep SCCT members and fans involved and entertained. So, the Board decided to present a series of small events between major productions.  “A Night of Monologues” on April 19th is the first.”

Be the community in Community Theater—join SCCT! Individual and family memberships receive tickets and admission to opening night parties and workshops. Additionally, sponsorships are recognized in programs and other publications, according to Marlar.

A home-grown theater company, SCCT grew out of a series of acting classes presented by The Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL). Several class members joined forces to create the Silver City Community Theater. Now after 5 years and many productions, SCCT’s mission continues: to enrich, educate and entertain the Silver City and Grant County communities by providing a broad range of live theater experiences on a recurring, seasonal basis.

SCCT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
