April 1st-30th-

*Sexual Assault Awareness Month Displays will be up   throughout the month at the WNMU, Silver City, and Bayard Libraries

*A Cup of Awareness: Javalina, WNMU Mustang Deli, Three Dogs, and Sunrise Espresso will be using SASS coffee sleeves during the month of April

*Literacy of Lyrics: Throughout the month of April KOOT 88.1 FM will be airing discussions on society, music and violence.

*Prom Promise: Silver City Floral and Silver Leaf Floral will distribute cards in corsage and boutonniere boxes that address forms of peer pressure that they may experience on their special night

April 10th-      Proclamation of April as Sexual

Assault Awareness Month by Mayor Charles Kelly 2pm @ City Hall, 2pm, Bayard, NM

April 20th-21st-A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer: Writings to stop violence against women and girls. 7pm @ Opera House, Pinos Altos. Tickets: $10 available at Alotta Gelato

April 24th-      Proclamation of April as Sexual

Assault Awareness Month by Mayor James Marshall. 6pm @ Grant County Administration Building, Silver City, NM.

April 27th-      Silent Voices for Victims: 15 minutes of silence for all victims of crime

                        6pm @ Gough Park in Silver City, NM

April 30th-      Helping with Healing: The Law as a Tool: Sexual Assault Legal Needs Clinic

6-7:30pm @ WNMU Global Resource Center. This FREE legal clinic is open to anyone interested in knowing more about legal rights for survivors of sexual violence
