Silver City, NM, August 30, 2019—The September 3rd meeting of PFLAG Silver City will be a brainstorming session focusing on how PFLAG can better serve the Hispanic/Latinx community in Grant County and beyond. The meeting begins at 7:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3845 N. Swan.  The public is invited, and refreshements will be served.

Attendees are encouraged to tell their personal stories and help guide PFLAG Silver City in its local outreach goals. According to the website www.familiaesfamilia.org, recent public opinion research shows that Latinx people — especially Latinx Catholics — strongly favor equal rights for the Latinx LGBTQ community. PFLAG National and the Human Rights Campaign both provide Spanish language booklets and other resources. These resources and others will be shared at the meeting.

Family support and acceptance is critical to the health and wellbeing of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer.  For more information, call 575-590-8797 or visit www.pflagsilver.org.
