On September 17, a discussion on Early Childhood Development and Education will be held from 2 to 3:30pm at the Headquarters of the Community Partnership for Children (1106 Pope Street).

These conversations are part of a statewide needs assessment being conducted by the New Mexico Early Childhood Development Partnership (NMECDP), in partnership with the State, in order to develop a strategic plan for the new Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD).

The ECECD will guide early childhood programs across New Mexico brought together under a single agency in 2019 in order to offer a more coordinated and efficient system for meeting the needs of New Mexico’s pre-K children. Silver City is one of 11 New Mexico communities selected for this phase of the project.
