Bayard Police Department

Monday, Oct. 14

Game and Fish
North Street
Caller advising a large black bear is in the area/it’s walking on North Street headed to Rosemary Street. NMSP dispatch was advised. Caller called back advising the bear was on the side of the mountain about 60 yards from his residence. Officer advised had visual of the bear for a while then it went behind the hill/wasn’t disturbing anything, was just eating.

Grant Street
Caller heard a loud bang and it woke her up. NMSP dispatch just called advising caller called them about hearing clicking in the yard. Officer clear from this address.

Stewart Street
Female called 911 then advised, “Never mind he woke up”/when asked for more info. Male in background advised female to hang up. Officer advised no one is coming to the door/lights are all off/dispatch attempted callback and someone picked up and disconnected.

Caller advised he could hear a child screaming and a dog barking. Officer had negative contact/clear.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

Domestic disturbance
Maple Street – 6:54 a.m.
Female yelling/advised her boyfriend is not giving her her son’s backpack. Officer advised male left prior to arrival/ATL.

Domestic disturbance
Maple Street – 7:32 a.m.
Caller can hear a lot of yelling and the female yelled she was going to burn the house down. Officer advised everything is okay/taking a named individual to another location/key to car and backpack were recovered.

Battery
N. Canyon Street
Caller advised her boyfriend was assaulted and disconnected the line/she keeps disconnecting the line and refusing to provide further information. NMSP officer advised a named individual is on a motorcycle and will be waiting at BPD. Officer en route to BPD.

Harassment
Maple Street – 11:03 a.m.
A named individual was attacking caller. Caller left to a meeting at the school and will call when back from the school/caller never called back.

N. Franey Street
Caller advised her father is on hospice and the caregiver isn’t answering her phone. Officer advised everything is okay/he is going to call caller.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

Disturbance
Copper Little League
Caller advised a named individual is not supposed to be there and was going to fight caller’s husband. Caller wants an officer to respond in reference to a CYFD issue.

Stewart Street
Caller advised that her 19-year-old son is not responding/slurring words/possible taken Xanax. EMS2 signed refusal.

Breaking and entering
Royal Street
Caller advised the garage and another door were opened/nothing appears to have been taken but they went through his stuff.

Thursday, Oct. 17

Larceny
Lusk Street
Caller advised her card was stolen on the 15th and a charge was made around 3 a.m. Officer advised clear/will follow up later today.

Battery
Cobre High School
One named individual hit another named individual.

Unwanted subject
Vencill Street
Caller advised she would like a named male removed/she is his mother/he was not being violent. Officer advised unit clear/male left upon request.

Hurley Police Department

Tuesday, Oct. 15

Missing person
Hurley Elementary
5-year-old granddaughter left walking away from the playground/missing for 30 minutes. Officer advised being told a red van took her/BPD officer out with a red van at Romero and Diaz streets. Deputies out with a red van pulling a trailer at the Bayard Chevron. BPD officer advised vehicle check/everything is okay/clear.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

Domestic disturbance
Cortez Avenue
Caller is fighting with her boyfriend/he hit her in the head with a dog bone/he is packing up his clothes now/getting ready to run off/caller is under the influence of meth. Other party advised he is trying to leave and she won’t let him. Officer advised en route.

Thursday, Oct. 17

Domestic disturbance
Elguea Street
62-year-old husband is pushing caller around/he is intoxicated. Officer has one in investigative detention.

Monday, Oct. 14

Domestic disturbance
N. James Street
Caller advised her son and his girlfriend are outside fighting/has gotten physical. Officers had contact with female at Oak and Prescott/requested ambulance for 25-year-old female bleeding from mouth and nose/have male in investigative detention/giving female a ride to a Pinon Street address.

Domestic disturbance
N. James Street
Caller advised a named male just hit her and left walking but is now coming back. Caller refused medical/advised he grabbed her. Officer had contact at Cactus and N. James.

N. James Street
Caller from Alamogordo is aunt of children who reside here and she hasn’t been able to reach them since Sunday. Officer advised negative contact with anybody at the home/unit clear/caller was advised.
